A few weeks ago, our volunteers Janna and Lisa started a sports program for the different classes in Gobabis together with the teachers: “Each week focuses on a specific theme, such as throwing, shooting, coordination or team sports. At the beginning of each sports lesson, we play a game to warm up and then start with the various exercises. Coordination is on the program this week. Today, with Alisha’s class, we played a matchstick race to warm up the fingers. Afterwards, we continued with a balloon-and-egg slalom course and a relay race, of course with a sand-filled balloon on the spoon. The children and the teachers have a great time every time, and cheering them on is an essential part of it.”
