steps strengthens its commitment in Zimbabwe

We are strengthening our commitment in Zimbabwe

Since 2017, the steps for children Foundation has been active in Zimbabwe in cooperation with Stiftung Hilfe mit Plan and Plan International. Over the past three years, we have supported social and income-generating measures. The situation is now extremely difficult in Zimbabwe as well, because it is not only COVID-19 that has affected the country; corruption in particular and the continuing hyperinflation are so severe that many parts of the population are fleeing to the countryside and trying to secure their meals there. Two out of three people in Zimbabwe live from agriculture. Our income-generating measures, such as fish ponds, chicken farming, chicken hatcheries and beekeeping, have therefore proven to be extremely important sources of support in this crisis, as they serve, among other things, to provide immediate food for people in rural areas.

Due to the great need, we are making new investments in income-generating measures with the construction of a further 2 fish ponds, a newly established banana plantation, a facility with 35 chicken coops with laying hens and chicken farming with a solar hatchery.

Donate now for income-generating measures in Zimbabwe and thereby secure independent provision for people on site.
