Once again, a group of 14 pupils from Gymnasium Eppendorf in Hamburg travelled to Namibia during the autumn holidays. For years, pupils and teachers have been involved through their association Hege Helping Hands at our Gobabis location. In 2017 too, they are helping hands-on and providing valuable support for our steps projects and our partner project Light for the Children.

Together with the project staff in Gobabis, they build, screw and saw and help with the construction of steps homes houses.

Enthusiastically, together with their teacher Norbert Grote, they make cupboards for various rooms based on a template. Although none of the pupils has any experience in carpentry, they master it successfully.

For years, the association has run Hege Helping Hands projects on the topics of children’s rights and child poverty. True to the motto „Don’t talk, just do it!“, the people involved provide great help. Through various activities, they have already supported steps for children several times. We would like to thank the pupils, the teachers and the association most sincerely for their remarkable work and their wholehearted commitment to steps.
