Another revenue-generating step
In Gobabis, accommodation is currently being built for young adults who are completing vocational training at neighbouring educational institutions. Two years ago, thanks to a very generous donation, we acquired a plot of land with a house in need of renovation in the immediate neighbourhood of the guest house in the Nossobville district.
A house in need of renovation is made fit again.
After careful examination by surveyors and site managers, the core refurbishment and remodelling work began in September 2024. The conversion will turn the ground-floor residential building with a spacious outdoor area into an income-generating step that can now be rented out once the renovation work has been completed. For the young adults, this should reduce the long and arduous journeys to vocational schools and dangers, and improve their quality of life and time for learning.

Thanks to the full commitment of the craftsmen, the building shell is constantly evolving.
Furniture built by former steps carpenters
The former steps carpenters from Gobabis have built beautiful furniture: With beds, wardrobes, chairs, tables and bedside tables, the trainee home is now ready to move into. The close collaboration between the building contractor and the carpenters resulted in a harmonious overall concept that harmoniously combines the sleeping, living and lounge areas.

Letting planned
We are already in close contact with local organisations that may wish to rent the building as accommodation for their protégés once it has been renovated.
