Volunteers Marlene Lautze and Rainer Preuß in Okakarara

Marlene Lautze and Rainer Preuß are using 10 weeks of their sabbatical year together to get involved with steps for children in Okakarara. Both came to steps through a former pupil of Ms Lautze, Johannes Vogelsang, who completed a voluntary service placement in Okakarara from 2010 to 2011 via weltwärts. For two weeks now, the two have been in Okakarara and are feeling very much at home, which can also be seen in the energy and joy they put into their tasks.

Rainer Preuß works as a „Caretaker“ and will now also provide maths tuition. His wife Marlene Lautze teaches art in the preschool, and the schoolchildren can also get creative once the homework has been finished and the tutoring is over.

She also offers a morning exercise session for the staff so that they can start the day feeling balanced. steps is delighted by so much commitment and wishes the two of them an exciting time in Namibia. Many thanks for this great effort!

For two weeks, the two are now already in Okakarara and feel very comfortable, can still be seen at the Elan and the joy that they are stuck in their tasks.

Rainer Preuss works as „Caretaker“ and will now provide additional math tutoring. His wife Marlene Lautze accepts in preschool art class and the school children may be, once the homework is done and the tutoring is over, live creatively.
