While it is summer here with pleasant temperatures, winter has arrived in Namibia. Last week, the region around Windhoek in particular was affected by the year's first real cold front, with temperatures as low as -15°C. We received reports of – 11°C from Gobabis. The cold particularly affects the residents of the poor neighborhoods, who sleep without blankets on only thin bedding. It is not uncommon for the elderly and sick to freeze to death in the cardboard and corrugated-iron huts, and the children also suffer greatly from the situation.
Please help us with a donation to help the people, especially the children we support, in the townships of Namibia. Our goal is to provide all 1,000 children directly or indirectly supported by us with warm blankets, warm clothing or even thicker mattresses. With just €150 we can buy 10 blankets, 1 thicker mattress for several children costs €90, and €75 is enough to equip a child with warm clothing (jacket, hat, scarf, socks, etc.). Every contribution to protection against the cold makes a difference and keeps a child warm on cold nights.
