With very few exceptions, our short-term volunteers have flown back to Germany or are planning their departure. Our partner organisation for the “weltwärts” volunteers, Volunta gGmbH, has launched a repatriation operation following a decision by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. At the moment, the volunteers are waiting to hear how and when this will happen. We are very sorry that the FSJ has to come to an end so quickly and that our committed young helpers are being torn away from their work because of the coronavirus.

Note:
Volunteers who wanted to work at steps for children in Namibia during the course of this year and have already made all the preparations must wait and see how things develop. At present, no statements can be made on this.
