‚+++ News from Rehoboth +++ Bridge of Hope has a new kitchen +++

Can you still remember the first spadefuls for the kitchen in February? We reported on it here and are now very pleased that this build was completed at the end of March.

The new kitchen with gas and electric cooker, refrigerator and freezer, kitchen cupboards and large work surfaces for preparing lunch was mainly financed by the Rotary Club Hamburg Haake.

Does the „Bridge of Hope“ project actually now have a second kitchen?

No. The need for a new kitchen arose due to the rapidly growing number of children cared for at „Bridge of Hope“. And the room that originally served as a kitchen was repurposed into a teachers' room and an administration block. This made it possible to ensure that lessons could continue as usual. However, the kitchen with cooking facilities and meal service was only temporarily housed there.

With the new soup kitchen, all the children who attend the Bridge of Hope project, as well as all staff and teachers, are now cooked for on 25 square metres and provided daily in a covered dining room with a warm lunch meal.

The entire steps for children team and all the children, who can now start the second half of the day full and satisfied after lunch, would like to thank Rotary Club Hamburg Haake most sincerely for funding the new kitchen!

Thanks for all the difference that you make in our lives. We did not say it all the time but I appreciate it very much.

Mylverine Bock, Head of Bridge of Hope
