New benefits for the sewing room
We have found a new use for the sewing room from Okakarara. What it is and where it will now be rebuilt, you can learn in our article. The sustainable idea of reusing the materials already available is an essential part of this.
Thanks to a generous donor, we can build a new sewing room in Okakarara . With a larger, solidly built house featuring an expanded showroom and a larger workshop area with room for additional sewing machines, both production and sales can be increased in the post-Corona period.
But why should we scrap the zinc walls and roof of the existing sewing workshop?
The old building will be moved to Ongombombonde and then serve a new purpose: It will be converted into living and storage spaces. Our vegetable garden is located in Ongombombonde, 8 kilometers away, where we grow cabbage, beetroot and maize, among other things.

Thanks to Hendrik, vegetable cultivation is thriving. There are hardly any losses anymore, and we trust Hendrik and his plans to expand the growing areas and hire more employees for this purpose. Thus, we create more jobs and also have more vegetables and plants for sale and for the soup kitchens.
Create living space
Some employees come to Ongombombonde from very distant villages, which makes additional living spaces necessary. We now want to build these using the materials from the former sewing room.
