Hamburger schoolchildren become guardian angels for children in Namibia
Primary school children from School an der Gartenstadt in Hamburg run to raise an almost five-figure donation for steps Angel Children in Okakarara, Namibia.
The primary school students in grades 2 and 4 at School an der Gartenstadt in Hamburg-Wandsbek surpassed themselves this year – in a sponsored run, they raised an almost five-figure sum in donations, a considerable amount that can be used to provide our Angel Children with learning materials and school uniforms, daily hot meals, and comprehensive care and support in afternoon classes.

Over several laps, the students ran, walked, skipped and hiked on a chilly day in April in aid of the steps Angel Children in Okakarara. Some parents and the teachers of the classes cheered on the primary school children and supported them in this fantastic campaign.
Every step counts and helps promote the education of our guardian angel children. The solidarity and generosity of the school community are overwhelming and show how much we can achieve together.
Together, all the children gather on the large meadow in front of the school at the start of the run.

Schule an der Gartenstadt is not the first time to support our steps children
School an der Gartenstadt has been helping the steps children in Namibia since as early as 2012 – with sponsored runs, Christmas bazaars, and punch and jam sales. Here we have compiled a brief overview of the activities to date:

This year's cheque presentation took place in early June, with all the children and their teachers, as well as steps for children board member Andreas Roß, in attendance. He brought a short presentation that once again illustrated to the students which children they are so committed to supporting.
