A large new greenhouse has been completed for tree cultivation in Okakarara!

As can be seen in the photos and in the short video, the greenhouse for the new fruit and forest trees consists of a good, sturdy steel frame and durable tarpaulins. The greenhouse increases protection against environmental influences such as excessive sunlight, frost, and pests, as well as reducing water evaporation.

Many diligent staff members were able to help complete the project quickly and make the 2,000 sqm cultivation area available.

This income-generating measure creates two new jobs. In this way, steps counteracts the high unemployment rate at the site, which is as high as 60 % (including informal settlements). In addition, we support the country's reforestation program: erosion and drying out of agricultural grazing land are to be counteracted and desertification prevented.

In addition, our kids' healthy and balanced diet is enriched with extra fruit (citrus fruits).

A heartfelt thank you to our donors who provide extensive support for this project!
