In Otavi Susan du Toit (right) together with Marianne Sack built the Koeb school hostel many years ago and from 2012 both also ran the joint preschool with steps for children. After Marianne withdrew two years ago, Susan now runs the project alone. However, the two teachers were always Agnes Naibas (left) and Selma Mukuwe at her side. It was therefore only a logical step that one of them is now being trained as her deputy.
Agnes has been working as a preschool teacher since 2012, attended several further training courses at the Amos Meerkat skool and is currently studying for her teaching diploma at the Headstart Montessori Teacher Training College. As her mother died early and no one was left to care for her, she had to leave school in Year 9.
Susan:
„Agnes is a very friendly teacher and loves the children. When a child is struggling she is always willing to take care of it after school and help wherever she can. She is an absolute honest person and I can trust her with the schools money at all times. Agnes is with her whole heart in the project and she is an excellent teacher, although she hasn’t got any postgraduate education!“
