ART for KIDS – art auction by the Christianeum for children in Namibia

[:en]

The auction lot, the impressive artistic works by the pupils from years 5, 6 and 7 as well as from the art profile course (upper school) of Christianeum under the direction of Inga Beyer, could already be admired on display boards in the Elbe Shopping Centre two weeks before the auction: oil paintings, drawings and even graffiti, all of consistently high artistic quality and expressive power. In addition, a large-format work had been contributed by the centre management.

On Saturday, 8 July 2017, the time had come at 3 pm. After the auction was opened by Christian Andresen from EEZ management and the project work of steps for children in Namibia was introduced by foundation employee Simone Damak, the pupils of the grammar school auctioned off their works themselves with great esprit and commitment, in the presence of a lawyer.

Our special thanks go to the female and male pupils. They made their — and it is fair to say — masterpieces available for auction and donated the proceeds to the steps for children foundation.

Thanks to this successful campaign, steps for children can use donation funds of almost four digits for designated purposes and improve the future prospects of the children at the project locations in Windhoek and Okahandja through basic supplies and education.

We would like to thank the young artists and the management of the Elbe Shopping Centre most warmly for this successful event.

THANK YOU FOR THIS POWERFUL CAMPAIGN WITH GREAT RADIANCE! The steps for children team
