At the age of 58, Dr Michael Hoppe he founded the steps for children foundation. Since 2006, it has supported the education of children and young people in Namibia and Zimbabwe and, with its own income-generating steps such as workshops and vegetable growing help to help themselves. While the pandemic, which is still ongoing, has caused the loss of income sources for many families and the population's food situation is catastrophic. In this video, Michael Hoppe speaks with Prof. Dr. Matthias Rompel, who, as Head of Department Southern Africa at the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), about the following questions: What can an individual achieve in development cooperation?
