For four days in March, the Liesberg family travelled to our steps project in Okakarara and Ongomombonde and did not miss the chance to lend a hand themselves.

Mother Eva devoted herself to the artistic design of the classrooms with the steps students. Together, they created a wonderful picture, which now adorns the wall and makes the lessons even more colourful. 

The siblings Elia and Alva spent eventful afternoons together with the steps children at kindergarten – soap bubbles and balloon games provided exercise and amazement. The two children had a lot of fun. They got involved, and thus a rainbow community emerged – two cultures united.

Father Ronny demonstrated his craftsmanship at steps: he built various sensory boxes so that the students can learn with all their senses during the “Land of Feelings” lesson. In addition, he built a shelter for sports equipment. “Our time in Okakarara was a lot of fun and was actually far too short,” says the Liesberg family. They gave the steps children so much and are taking a wealth of new impressions and experiences away from their short but wonderful visit to our projects.
