Pioneers in Rehoboth and a thank-you from the projects

Hella Krummbach and Miriam Kleinke from the Dresden area are volunteering for the first time this year for more than three months as young volunteers in our projects in Rehoboth. The 6-year-old children at „Otto Gamseb“ were delighted: every day there was something new to discover with the two of them. They learned about the diversity of the animal kingdom, colours and numbers over two weeks. They played great animal games in PE and made beautiful masks in art class.

In addition, Hella and Miriam helped to look after the guardian angel children and livened up Eveline Boois's tutoring with small games.

In October, the two volunteers moved on to our partner project „Heart for the children“. There they got to know Magdalena Schulz, known as Granny Schulz – a teacher like no other. She impressed them because she has built up a deep connection with her pupils and does wonderful work: Mrs. Schultz organises and plans her lessons well in advance and prepares the topics in a way that is suitable for children. For each child, she creates a separate workbook with individual tasks and gives the days structure.

Our National Coordinator, Peik Bruhns, is also enthusiastic about Granny Schultz: „She is a phenomenal teacher and has her heart in the right place. There are very few KhoiKhoiGowab teachers who are so experienced and valuable.“

Many thanks …

… to Hella and Miriam for your dedicated commitment – these words from Mrs. Schultz, Magdalena Pienaar and her daughter Yvonne apply to you as well as to all our supporters:
