Our volunteer supporters are a key pillar of steps for children’s work. With their individual skills, they enrich our team and help us to implement our goals professionally and with enthusiasm.

We are looking to strengthen our volunteer team in the areas of graphic design and social media!

Support sought: Graphic design

For the design of our print and online media, we are looking for dedicated experts who, as volunteers, can professionally support our communications processes and our fundraising.

We are looking forward to experienced graphic designers to carry out the following tasks:

• Redesigning, updating or modifying print templates, including flyers, adverts, posters, annual reports and calendars, Christmas cards
• graphic design of our online media, such as campaign pages or special fundraising tools for the website and Facebook.

The assignments do not arise continuously over time, but are tied to specific actions/campaigns, new editions of media or year-dependent publications. The monthly workload averages around 10 hours/month.

The work can be done from home; the relevant software programmes (InDesign/Photoshop) should be available. We will be happy to clarify further details in a personal meeting.

Support sought: Social media

To spread news from the projects in Namibia, reports on campaigns by supporters, volunteers, schools, corporate partners, as well as announcements of events and fundraising activities in Germany, we use social media such as our website (steps aktuell), Facebook and our blog.

In order to make these media dynamic and to update them regularly with information, images and videos, we are looking for volunteers who enjoy working in digital media, have experience with the various online tools, and are keen to plan and implement campaigns. New ideas and creative combinations with other online platforms are welcome.

The weekly workload in hours depends on individual commitment. Given the current scope of work, it is estimated at 2-4 hours/week.

The work can also be done from home; detailed arrangements will be made in a personal meeting. We look forward to receiving your qualified application at mitarbeit@stepsforchildren.de.

 

Getting involved together

Every year, we invite the volunteers of our steps community to a shared dinner, thank them for their work and offer the opportunity to get to know one another, exchange ideas and network.

Our volunteers are also very welcome at other events, such as that of our support association or the foundation anniversary in 2016.

Every year, we invite the volunteers in our community to a joint dinner, to thank them for their work and to provide an opportunity for mutual acquaintance, exchange and networking.
