On his project trip in June 2021, Michael Hoppe met two of our Schutzengel children, who attend school in the next largest city, Otjiwarongo, and who there together manage everyday school life. The two Schutzengel girls are in 10th grade and come from Okakarara. This is the location where the first steps for children project was created in 2006. The sustainable Schutzengel Programme was launched somewhat later. Three of our Schutzengel children have now been living in Windhoek since February. They have overcome the first major hurdle on the way to an independent life and have started studying.
You can now become a Schutzengel too and enable a child from the poorest backgrounds to access education with €31 a month.
