Who is Johanna?
One of the first to have now begun studying in Windhoek through the support of steps for children. In “Who is Johanna?” she introduced herself once again and reported on her life so far.
Johanna was born in Okakarara, Namibia and grew up with her parents. She has two younger sisters.
„It’s so unfortunate that I don’t have a brother.“
Life situation
Johanna lives with her family in a squatter settlement where they fetch water from public taps. They have no electricity and use firewood for cooking and battery lamps for light in the evening.
„Though life seems a little bit difficult, we have
3 rooms which is more than enough to accommodate all of us.“
School
Johanna wanted to study from the very beginning because she knows that this is the only solution to eradicate poverty in her family. “My siblings must always be able to count on me as the firstborn, sooner or later.”
I like!
„My favourite food is meat and pizza and I like listening to
House Music (South African songs).“
I really don't have much to say about myself. I am hardworking and dedicated to being successful. Honestly, I am a very serious person when it comes to my school work. Education is my number one priority, where I can always do a little more to achieve my goals.
„I really don’t have much to say about myself. I am hardworking an dedicated towards my success. Honestly I am a very serious human being when it comes to my school work. Education is my first priority whereby I can go extra mile to achieve my goals.“
She is, so to speak, from the first generation of guardian angels – we are happy for her and continue to support and accompany her on her educational journey, now as a #stepsstudent.
