The 12th annual general meeting of the steps for children e.V. support association was once again worthwhile this year: Many familiar and new faces met in the rooms of the Ökumenisches Forum Hafencity e.V. Over a small, appealing vegetarian buffet with juice and quiche, our guests had the opportunity for individual exchange both before and after the event. In addition to the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Michael Hoppe, who reported on the small and large steps successes, Kathrin Hartkopf, Managing Director of the Stiftung Hilfe mit Plan, was also warmly invited to give an update on the joint projects in Zimbabwe.

The steps friends were also delighted to hear three further reports from volunteers. Wolfgang Kuckelt told of a girl in Okakarara who curiously asked him why he worked all day. The girl had not expected his answer at all, that he enjoyed working.

Also Juliane Scheller, who, as a speech therapist, provided individual support lessons for three months to our steps children in Okakarara, reported on her experiences.

The talk by Hannah Russ, who had travelled from Marburg especially for the occasion, about her assignment in Gobabis drew respect and amazement from the audience. Through her work, she was able to demonstrate expertise in many areas. Why exactly? For example, you can here read about it.
