From the first steps to university graduation

Clenda's success story: How education and reliable support can sustainably change life paths.

Real opportunities arise when potential meets support. Clenda has walked the entire journey: As a small child, she came to our preschool in Okakarara – today, she proudly holds her university degree in her hands. Her story impressively shows what is possible when we not only provide children with a meal, but also support them לאורך their educational journey in the long term.

Become part of a movement that makes dreams come true, and support children and young people like Clenda in taking their future into their own hands.

My path to a self-determined future

In this short video, Clenda personally talks about her years with steps for children, the biggest milestones of her school career, and what successfully graduating means for her future life.

Guardian angel programme

Good, sustainable education costs money. With the help of our Guardian Angels, we support children and young people in Namibia during their school career and beyond. Guardian Angels make their contribution in the form of a monthly or annual donation based on the respective needs of the pupils or students. This programme is very successful: the first Schutzengel children have already completed their bachelor's degree - without steps for children, this would never have been possible.

When vision becomes future

Clenda visiting foundation founder Michael Hoppe in Hamburg.

A very special moment of connection: For this video, Clenda and the founder of steps for children, Michael Hoppe, met in Hamburg. Together, they look back on the beginnings of the foundation and talk about what has changed since then. It is the living result of a vision that began many years ago in Namibia and is now bearing fruit thanks to the support of our community. A conversation full of gratitude, pride, and a shared belief in the power of education.
