A niche for happiness

Martha is one of our steps homes children. At 14, due to a lack of prior schooling, she was only in Year 2 and therefore did not feel at all comfortable. Now she has left school and Intern in our Guest house in Gobabis. Here she feels at ease, understood and does a great job. Together with Jackie, she looks after the guests and takes care of the rooms as well as the forecourt. steps is also committed to providing appropriate future prospects – it is not necessarily essential to take A-levels in order to build a future.

Regina from our steps homes in Gobabis is currently improving her A-level results at NAMCOL (Namibian College of Open Learning). She usually studies in the evening for this. During the day, she is Volunteer and, together with Sophia and Santiago, looks after the Schutzengel and steps homes children. She shares her own experiences and acts as a link between the teachers and the pupils. In the photo, we see her together with the other children in her steps homes family.
