Peter Wackel and Steps for Children

Peter Wackel was on an exploration and charity tour in Namibia with the Reiner Meutsch Stiftung FLY & HELP. During the tour, he also visited his new supported project: A new school building with 2 classrooms for afternoon classes at ILENI TULIKWAFENI!

The German Schlager star and self-professed Namibia fan Peter Wackel embarked on a genuine discovery tour in January. While passing through, he happened to see the partner project of steps for children in Okahandja and spontaneously visited it. Together with FLY & HELP, he is financing the construction of the new Peter Wackel school building there, with two classrooms for an additional 50 students from the Five Rand Settlement, one of the poorest areas in Namibia.

The following educational measures are planned for use of the building:

mornings: Classes for preschool children at the Community Center ILENI TULIKWAFENI
afternoons: Homework support for students at the Community Center ILENI TULIKWAFENI
evenings: Further education courses for adults without a school-leaving qualification from the Informal Settlement Five Rand

And he is financing not only the construction, including a storage room and sanitary facilities, but also the provision of school furniture. In the photo, you can see Ulrike Mai, National Coordinator of steps for children in Namibia, together with Peter Wackel in Windhoek:
