In the beautiful Stuttgart suburb and wine village of Uhlbach, the Uhlbach Music Society is at home. In the music society, alongside the main orchestra, there is also a big band and a kids band. In the kids band, children are introduced to music from the age of 7.

Through the commitment of Maren and Andreas Brieger, Mrs Brieger is a Guardian Angel for children in Okakarara, the 1st chairman of the music association, Jürgen Lenz, and the 2nd chairman, Dr. Heiko Braun, became aware of the steps for children foundation.

When planning the year-end concert on 8 December 2018 at St. Andrew’s Church in Uhlbach, the board decided to ask for donations instead of charging admission – 50% of the proceeds will go to steps for children. The board of the music association considers the promotion of musical and general education for children very important.

The music society, with the main orchestra and the two bands, presented a varied and diverse programme at a very high level. Many well-known melodies, including from musicals, operettas, pop and classical music, were performed, as well as a chorale by J.S. Bach. There was great applause and an encouraging amount of donations, so that the Uhlbach Music Society was able to transfer a three-digit sum to the steps for children foundation.

Overall, it was a great opportunity to introduce steps for children in Uhlbach!
