On 8 July, our partner „Heart for the Children“ officially received approval from the authorities for the new school buildings that were built with financial support from the steps for children foundation and other supporters. The inventory is still missing, but as soon as tables and chairs have been purchased, the project will be able to accommodate and support twice as many children. The

[:en] We are delighted that the children's advisory board of the BürgerStiftung Hamburg steps for children has approved funding for the construction of a playground for our co-operation project „Otto Gamseb“ in Rehoboth/Namibia. The BürgerStiftung Hamburg and the children's aid organisation Children for a better World e.V. pursue the goal of working together with young people to improve the situation of children and young people.

[:de] Rehoboth, Namibia: about 90 kilometers south of the Namibian capital Windhoek; 28,800 people, 12,000 of whom live in extreme poverty without water, electricity, and sanitation facilities. Unemployment here is between 80 and 90 percent. Every third pregnant woman between the ages of 30 and 39 is infected with HIV. Unfortunately, the situation in the schools also
