During the May holidays, Selma Mukuve, Desiree Shunyuni and Agnes Naibas, the three preschool teachers of the steps for children - Johanniter PrePrimary School, participated in an advanced training course of the “Amos Meerkat skool” Namibia. The Johanniter Heim Khoaeb Otavi made its premises available for this purpose and Ms. Susan du Toit, project manager in Otavi, and her staff took care of the physical well-being. The 13 course participants came from different rural areas, including Tsumkwe in Bushmanland and from farms in the area. Sometimes these women and men teach up to 30 children under a tree without any funding and with very little school material. Amazing and admirable what these people are doing there! After a week of advanced training, the course participants returned home well equipped with teaching material for their children.
