Once again some classes (all 4th grades as well as a 1st grade) of the Hamburg elementary school have joined forces School at the garden city from Wandsbek worked hard for the steps for children project in Okakarara and collected donations.
After a very eventful week of project with intensive discussions on the subject of "Children's Rights in the World", the students and teachers are happy and proud to be able to donate a four-figure amount for the steps for children project in Okakarara.
During the project week the classes worked out to what extent the rights of children in Namibia / Okakarara differ from the rights of children in Germany / Hamburg.
The project week ended with a large bazaar, where the girls and boys sold handicrafts, baked goods and more on the subject of “children's rights” for the benefit of steps for children and thus collected donations for steps.
In addition, with a great example, the class 1c of Mr. Fink decided to sponsor Okakarara for the entire period of primary school (4 years) as part of the Guardian Angel program. In the coming years the class will enter into a close, intensive and fruitful exchange with the children in Okakarara.
We at steps really appreciate having such motivated primary school children at our side, who are accompanied and strengthened by committed educators - both in their thinking beyond the familiar and with a view of the bigger picture.
We thank all participating students and teachers of the School at the garden city with all my heart for this great multi-use.
